Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cells Banking
The residual blood and the cord after the baby is delivered is collected (free Collection CD available on request) involves the following procedures.

  • Screening of Infectious diseases (of the mother)
  • Collection of cord blood
  • Enrichment of stem cells
  • Cryo-preservation (control rate freezing)
  • HLA typing (on request)
  • Enumeration of stem cells

Why Bank?
The cord blood is a once in a lifetime collection. It has to be done only at the time of the birth of the child as these cells do not remain alive unless they are cryo preserved.
The need to “Bank” these stemcells collected from the cord blood is necessary for any future application
Finding a stem cell sample from a donor (allogeneic) involves HLA typing and matching. The probability of finding a match is 1 in 25000. It is better to cryopreserve your child’s umbilical cord stemcells as they are very good sources of stemcells and do not need HLA matching. They are an “autologous” source and do not cause any harm to either the mother or the child.

Mesenchymal Stem cells Banking from Wharton’s Jelly
Wharton’s Jelly present in the Umbilical Cord is rich in Mesenchymal Stem cells, which has great relevance in the field of regenerating medicine for regenerating cartilage and muscle tissues. The doctor has to send us the Umbilical Cord following the SOP (available on request) from the mother.

Peripheral Blood Mobilized Stem cells
We offer the service of long term storage of peripheral blood stem cells, which is mobilized from the peripheral blood of the patient. This has relevance in cancer related therapies.

Bone marrow stem cells
We offer the service of long term storage of Bone Marrow Stem cells extracted from the Bone Marrow. This has relevance in Bone Marrow transplants.

Expansion
We also provide the unique service of expansion (growing) of all above stem cells.

Differentiation
We also provide the service of differentiation of the stem cells in to Cardio Myocytes, Neural cells, Cartilage bone etc. for clinical use on request.

Dendritic Cell Therapy
Generating dendritic cell vaccines from peripheral blood mobilized stem cells for applications in cancer therapies.
